Wilma Ludens

Wilma J. Ludens, 98, of Sheboygan, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at the Sheboygan Senior Community. Wilma was born on June 18, 1916, in the Town of Lima, daughter of Cornelius and Jenny DeBlaey. She attended Hingham Elementary School. On March 3, 1954, she married Vernon H. Ludens in Gibbsville. Vernon passed away on October 10, 1996. Wilma was previously married to Garrett "Hank" Scholten, who passed away in October of 1992. Wilma was a member of Gibbsville Reformed Church, where she served in the Women's Missionary Society. She enjoyed home Bible studies, gardening, crocheting, canning, and baking. Wilma is survived by her two sons, Don (Fay) Scholten of Sheboygan Falls and David (Faye) Ludens of Antigo; four grandsons, Jason (Rhonda) Scholten, Michael (Becky) Scholten, Joel (Stacy) Scholten; one step-grandson, Scott Kautzer; seven great-grandchildren, Greg, Austin, Mason, Dylan, Willa, Brock, and Gavin; and her sister, Jeanette Carlson of Sheboygan. Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Garrett and Vernon, one sister, Clara (Hilbert) Huenink, one step grandson, JD Kautzer, and one brother-in-law, Alton Carlson. Funeral services to celebrate Wilma's life will be held at 3pm on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Gibbsville Reformed Church with Rev. John Ornee officiating. Burial will take place at Gibbsville Cemetery in the Town of Lima. Relatives and friends may call at Gibbsville Reformed Church on Saturday, May 16, 2015 from 2pm until the time of service at 3pm. A memorial fund has been established in Wilma's name for the Gibbsville Reformed Church Choir. A heartfelt thank you to the staff of The Sheboygan Senior Community and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for all their care and compassion that they gave to Wilma.
