Willis Rooker, 98, of Sheboygan Falls, WI, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at his home.Willis was born on June 3, 1920, in Town of Rhine, WI, to Wybrand and Jennie (Sanders) Rooker. He attended Victory School. On June 3, 1950, Willis married Janet Kraemer in St. Peter United Church of Christ in Kiel, WI. Willis worked as an upholsterer at Richardson Brothers Furniture Company in Sheboygan Falls, WI, for 34 years until his retirement in 1986. He was a lifelong member of First Reformed Church of Sheboygan Falls where he served as an elder and deacon. He served on the Waldo Village Board from 1974 until 1985, and as a woodworking leader for Waldo Fireflies 4-H Club. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, ceramics, cooking, baking, fishing, hiking, and traveling, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandson.Willis is survived by his wife of 68 years, Janet Rooker; two daughters, Karen Rooker, Cheri (Bruce) Stocker; son, Keith (Tami) Rooker; two grandchildren, Brandon Rooker, Brittani "His Britzie" Rooker; one great-grandchild, Maverick Rooker; three sisters; Gertrude Rooker, Dorothy Dunham, Joann Grant; two brothers-in-law, Robert (Joyce) Kraemer, Edward Kraemer; and sisters-in-law, Mary Rooker, Marilyn Rooker,and Donna Wenzel. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Willis was preceded in death by his parents Wybrand & Jennie Rooker, parents-in-law, Edwin & Leona Kraemer; one sister; Marie Rooker; five brothers; Henry (Myrtha) Rooker, Edward (Florence) Rooker, Raymond Rooker, Donald Rooker, Robert Rooker; brother-in-law, Rev. Roger Wenzel. A funeral service to celebrate Willis's life will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at 11:00 am at the First Reformed Church of Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Brad Veenendaal officiating. A burial will take place at Waldo Cemetery.Relatives and friends may greet the family at the church on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. The family would like to thank the staffs of Tender Hearts Senior Community and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their compassionate care.
