William P. Scharenbroch, 71, of 159 Guilford St., Sheboygan Falls, was born to eternal life, with his family at this side, on Saturday morning, Sept. 18, 1999, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
He was born on January 19, 1928, in School Hill, the son of the late William and Mary (Miller) Scharenbroch. He attended Holy Trinity Catholic Grade School in School Hill. On June 17, 1950, he married the former Violet Striegel at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Sheboygan. Bill worked in the machine shop at the Kohler Co. and retired in 1993 following 44 years of employment there.
Bill was a member of the Faith Community of St. Mary in Sheboygan Falls and the Kohler Quarter Century Club. He and his wife enjoyed camping and were members of the Once a Month Dance Club.
He is survived by his wife, Violet; one daughter Lynn (Jim) Buehler of Sheboygan Falls, three sons, Gary (Gloria) of Sheboygan, David (Julie) of Kiel and John (Wendy) Scharenbroch of Sheboygan Falls; seven grandchildren, Sandy(Jeremiah) Fyffe, Joe Buehler, Derek, Nicole, Rachel, Jessica and Crystal Scharenbroch; his mother-in-law, Esther Striegel of Howards Grove; two sisters, Bernice (Eugene) Schnell of Kiel, Betty (Terry) Owens of Chilton; seven brothers, Bernard (Colette) of Lebanon, PA Herbert (Bernice), Francis (Ruth), Al (Agnes), Simon (Betty), Anthony and Raymond (Caroline) Scharenbroch, all of Kiel; and one brother-in law, Bernard Schad of Milwaukee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Dorothy Schad; and his father-in-law, William Striegel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 21, 1999 at 10 a.m. at the Faith Community of St. Mary Sheboygan Falls with the Rev. Michael F. Moran presiding. A prayer service will precede at 9:30am at the Huehns-Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls. Entombment will follow at Gardens of Peace.
Friends may call at the Huehns-Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Monday from 4-8p.m. and on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the time of prayers at 9:30 a.m. A parish vigil service will be held on Monday evening at 7 p.m.
A memorial fund will be established in his name.
