Willard M. DeMaster, 95, formerly of Cedar Grove, died unexpectedly on Thursday morning, February 8, 2007, at Pine Haven Residential Christian Home. He was born December 15, 1911 in the Town of Holland, the son of the late William and Emma (Wynveen) DeMaster. Willard was a 1931 graduate of Wisconsin Memorial Academy in Cedar Grove. On December 3, 1935, he married the late Alice G. Hilbelink in Cedar Grove. She preceded him in death on September 21, 2001. Willard worked for 43 years with the Sheboygan County Highway Department as a Mechanic and Shop Foreman retiring in 1976. He was a charter member of Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove where he served as deacon and elder. Willard was a member of Cedar Grove Kiwanis and an active volunteer for Campus Life and the Holland Festival. He enjoyed woodworking, and crafts; but will be best remembered as someone always willing to help others. Survivors include one daughter, Mary (Eldon) Schulte of Pella, Iowa; four sons, Roger (Marilyn) and Paul (Mary), both of Oostburg, Rev. Glenn (Marilyn) of Fullerton, Calif. and Lee (Nancy) DeMaster of Fond du Lac; 13 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; one brother, Howard (Joan) DeMaster of Suring, two brothers-in-law, Willard Grotenhuis of Pine Haven Residential Christian Home and Wesley Ten Haken of Countryside Manor, and one sister-in-law, Dorothy DeMaster of Sanford, Florida. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; one daughter, Joyce; four sisters, and two brothers. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 12, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove, with the Revs. Glenn DeMaster and Earl Slotman, officiating. A family service will precede at 10:45 am. Burial will take place at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Sunday, February 11, 2007 from 3-7 p.m.; and on Monday, at church, from 10am until the time of the service at 11 am. The DeMaster family would like to express their appreciation to the devoted staff at Pine Haven Christian Residential Home for the wonderful care that they provided to Willard while he lived there.
