Wayne Wieberdink

Wayne J. Wieberdink, 88, of Cedar Grove, passed away on Monday night, August 8, 2016, at his home. Wayne was born on April 13, 1928, in Cedar Grove, son of DeLoyd and Esther (Meerdink) Wieberdink. He was a 1946 graduate of Cedar Grove High School. Wayne served in the US Army from 1950-52. On September 10, 1954, he married Shirley Soerens in Cedar Grove. Wayne was a dairy farmer in the Town of Holland and also worked at Bolens in Port Washington. Wayne was a charter member of Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove. He was a member of the Sheboygan County Farm Bureau, the Pigeon Club, and the Old Timers Pony Club. Wayne enjoyed ponies, pigeons, travel, and yardwork. Wayne is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley; his daughter, Kelly Wieberdink of Sheboygan; his two sons, Timothy Wieberdink and Gregory Wieberdink, both of Sheboygan; three grandchildren, Sarah Wieberdink, Amanda Fenner, and Brandon Gierke; one sister, Delores Theune of Oostburg; two sisters-in-law, Joyce (Harry) VanStelle of Waunakee and Mary (Wayne) Ebbers of Cedar Grove; two brothers-in-law, Elwood (LaVerne) Soerens of Sheboygan Falls and Dennis (Marcia) Soerens of Cedar Grove; nieces and nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Justin Wieberdink; his sister, Marilyn (Paul) Daane, and his brother-in-law, Marvin Theune. Funeral services to celebrate Wayne's life will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, August 12, 2016 at Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove with Rev. Ronald Sanford officiating. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in the Town of Wilson. Relatives and friends may gather at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Thursday from 5-7pm, and on Friday, at church, from 9:30 until the time of the service at 10:30 am. A memorial fund has been established in Wayne's name for Faith Reformed Church, Pine Haven Christian Communities, and Campus Life.
