Wayne L. Stokdyk, 80, of Oostburg, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at Pine Haven Christian Homes in Sheboygan Falls.Wayne was born on June 25, 1936, in Sheboygan to Laverne and Gertrude (DeBruine) Stokdyk. He was a 1954 graduate of Waldo High School. On October 3, 1959, Wayne married his best friend, Margie A. Baetz, at Fountain Park EUB in Sheboygan. Following his military service, he operated the Hingham Feed Mill. He then worked as a semi driver for Richardson Lumber Company and Schultz Sav-o until his retirement in 1996. Following his retirement, he bailed hay for Mullikin Farms and assisted with catering services at Myra's Country Cakes.Wayne was a member of Fountain Park United Methodist Church where he was an asset working on various committees, teaching Sunday school, and greeting the congregation with a warm smile each Sunday.Wayne was active in his early years driving the bus for the Elms Band. He served as a 4H Horse & Pony leader. He enjoyed wood working, playing cards, traveling, and making his famous pies and dessert bars. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his dear family and being an active part of his family's life. Wayne is survived by one daughter, Myra (Don) Eischen of Cascade; one son, Warren (Sue) Stokdyk of Gibbsville; two grandchildren, Matthew and Janna Stokdyk; two sisters, Carolyn (Lowell) Kappers of Cedar Grove and Janet Sand of Sheboygan Falls; one brother, Mark (Dianne) Stokdyk of Plymouth; one sister-in-law, Betty Blanke of Sheboygan; two brothers-in-law, Bill (Kaylene) Baetz of Sheboygan, and Virgil (Marion) Mullikin of Hingham; nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family.Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Margie Stokdyk; a sister, Eleanor Mullikin; two brothers-in-law, Fred Marksthaler and Fred Sand; and one great nephew, Taylor VanderWeele.A funeral service to celebrate Wayne's life will be held at the Fountain Park United Methodist Church in Sheboygan on Monday, June 5, 2017, at 1:00pm with Rev. Warren Waddell officiating. A private internment will take place at Hingham Cemetery at 10am on Monday.Relatives and friends may gather for a time of visitation at the Wenig Funeral Home of Oostburg on Sunday, June 4, 2017 from 4pm until 8pm and again at CHURCH on Monday from 11:30am until the time of service at 1pm.A memorial fund is being established in Wayne's name for Oostburg Ambulance and Flight for Life.For online condolences and additional information, please visit
