Warren I. Prinsen, 80, of Cedar Grove died on Monday morning, June 17, 2013 at Columbia-St Mary's Hospital in Milwaukee following a short illness. Warren was born on October 7, 1932 in Cedar Grove, the son of Harvey and Florence Prinsen. He graduated from Cedar Grove High School in 1951. Warren served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict from 1953-55. On October 7, 1953, he married Mary Ann Dekker in Sheboygan. Warren was a mason for 62 years and was known as a gifted bricklayer, working for Ernie Lammers and Ralph VerVelde. Warren was a lifetime member at Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Cedar Grove where he served as a deacon, elder and trustee. He enjoyed singing with the church choir and with the Pine Haven Men's Chorus. He enjoyed farming and farmed his father's homestead. Warren deeply loved his family and he simply loved to work. He will be dearly missed. Warren is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Ann; four children and their families, Debra (Thomas) Huenink of Cedar Grove and their family, Abby (Larry) Bousley of Wrightstown, Kate (Jim) Schmitz and Bradley (Karen) Huenink, both of Cedar Grove; Dennis (Gail) Prinsen of Manchester, IA and their family, Andy (Courtney) Prinsen of Muscatine, IA, Emily Prinsen of Kansas City, MO; Diane (Dean) Ratajczak of Oostburg and their family, Paul Ratajczak of Arlington Heights, IL, Jake (Kate) Ratajczak and Steven (Jaclyn) Ratajczak both of Oostburg; and Doris (Michael) DeHaai of Cedar Grove and their family, David (Amanda) DeHaai of Greenville, Peter (JoEllen) DeHaai of Madison, and Alex DeHaai of Minneapolis, MN; eleven great grandchildren, one brother, Ronald (Joan) Prinsen of New Berlin; three sisters-in-law, Kathryn Otte and Lillian Dekker, both of Sheboygan, and Lillian (Robert) Walvoort of Oostburg; many nieces and nephews. Warren was preceded in death by his parents, one sister-in-law, Jane (Ben) Boerkoel; and two brothers-in-law, Henry Otte and Peter Dekker. A funeral to celebrate Warren's life will take place at Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Cedar Grove on Thursday evening at 7 pm with the Rev. Ronald Beabout officiating. Private burial will take place at Presbyterian Cemetery in the Town of Holland. Family and friends will gather at the church on Thursday from 3pm until the time of the service at 7 pm.
