Wallace Clanderman

Wallace "Wally" Clanderman, 78, of 1004 Broadway, Sheboygan Falls, died unexpectedly on Tuesday May 12, 2009 at St. Nicholas Hospital. Wally was born on January 7, 1931 in Sheboygan, son of the late Albert H. and Elsie (Heiden) Clanderman. He was a 1950 graduate of Sheboygan North High School and attended 2 years at UW-Sheboygan. On October 4, 1952 he married Gloria A. Harmelink at First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls. Gloria preceded him in death on January 10, 1995. Wally was employed as a accountant with Kohler Company for 30 years until his retirement in 1990. Wally was a member of Bethany Reformed Church in Sheboygan where he served as both deacon and elder and also a member of the choir and Prime Timers. He served as Vice President of Wisconsin Classis of the Reformed Church of America. Wally also participated with Wuerl Band, was a charter member of Kohler Kiwanis Club, and was a member of Boy Scouts of America for 30 years. He served on the Board of Trustees at Pine Haven Christian Home and was a Director of Kohler Credit Union. Wally was a member of the Kohler Quarter Century Club and the National and State Association of Credit Management. Wally enjoyed computers, playing cards, VFW bingo, spending time with his grandchildren. He was also a fan of the Brewers, Badgers, and Packers. Survivors include three daughters, Catherine (Alan) Southern of Blackfoot, ID, Connie (Philip) Stegemeyer of Sheboygan, and Lori Kuch of Olmsted Falls, OH.: one son, Mark (Laura) Clanderman of Sheboygan Falls; three grandchildren, Katie and Brian Kuch, and Jordyn Clanderman; four step grandchildren, Christian Tupper, Alex Tupper, Jessica Allen, Shilah Stegemeyer; one step great grandchild, Jade Allen; two cousins (more like sisters) Helen (Charles) McElroy of Plymouth, Cora Waeckerle of Rhinelander, WI. He is also survived by, two sisters-in-law Verla (Howard) Tagliabue of Rutherford, NJ, Carol Meves of Hamilton, MT; and nieces, nephews and many special friends. Wally was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria; two sons-in-law, David Trempe and Robert Knoespel, and one brother-in-law Ken Meves. Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 14th, 2009 at 6:00 pm at Bethany Reformed Church in Sheboygan with the Rev. Lyle Zumdahl, pastor officiating. Burial will take place at Woodland Cemetery in Kohler. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 3:00 pm until the time of services. Memorial fund as been established in his name for Bethany Reformed Church Building Fund and Pine Haven Christian Home.
