Vivian M. Kaat, 96, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015, at Pine Haven Nursing Home. Vivian was born on June 26, 1918, in Peninsula Center, Door County, daughter of Henry and Rose (Engelke) Schultz. In 1926, the family moved to Kohler and later to Sheboygan, where she lived the rest of her life. On September 17, 1938, she was united in marriage with Leonard Kaat. Vivian was a nurses aid at the Sheboygan Retirement Home and a housekeeper for multiple families in the Sheboygan area. Vivian was a member of the Netherlands Reformed Congregation, where she served as organist and custodian. She was also a member of the Auxiliary of Pine Haven Christian Home with which her Church was affiliated. Vivian enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, sewing, cooking, canning, and crossword puzzles, and extremely enjoyed her two grandchildren. Vivian is survived by her son, Leon (Carol) Kaat; two grandchildren, Amy (Ken) Van Wyk of Waldo and Timothy (Shari) Kaat of Sheboygan Falls; five great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Samuel, and Mary Van Wyk and Taylor and Amanda Kaat. Vivian was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Leonard, her parents, three brothers, Donald, Clifford, and Lewis Schultz, and two sisters, Mildred Seiler and Susan Raatz. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at the Netherlands Reformed Congregation with Rev. A.H. Verhoef officiating. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in the Town of Wilson. Relatives and friends may call at the church from 9:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am. A memorial fund has been established in Vivian's name for Netherlands Reformed Congregation.
