Virginia Meyer

Virginia V. Meyer, 86, of Cedar Grove, passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at the Plymouth Care Center. Virginia was born on May 13, 1923 in Sheboygan, the daughter of the late Anton and Anna (Scholten) Nysse. On June 26, 1945 she married Russell W. Meyer in Plymouth. Virginia farmed with her husband in the Town of Holland for 40 years. Virginia enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, the outdoors and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Russell; one daughter Sandra (Allan) Leider of Plymouth; one son Bill (Carol) Meyer of Waldo; four grandchildren, Jed Leider, Calen (Lindsay Nelson) Leider, Scott (Lisa) Meyer and Penny (Tim) Dunn; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lloyd (Ruth) Nysse of Oostburg and Anton Nysse of Conover; a brother-in-law Kenneth Meyer of Cedar Grove and two sisters-in-law Ruth Graven of Hartford and Juanita Simmelik of Peoria, AZ. Virginia was preceded in death by her great-grandson Joshua Dunn, her sister Leona Hulbert and her brother Ervin Nysse. Private family services will be held at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg and burial will follow at Union Cemetery in the Town of Holland. A memorial fund has been established in Virginia's name for St. Nicholas Home Healthcare and Hospice.
