Vernon Schlichting

Vernon C. Schlichting, 84, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at his home. Vernon was born on January 8, 1931, in Wisconsin, son of Milton and Mabel (Schwartz) Schlichting. He served in the US Army from 1951-1953. On November 26, 1960, he married Kathleen Maurer at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sheboygan Falls. Vernon was employed with the Kohler Company. Vernon was a member of Zion Evangelical Covenant Church in Sheboygan. He enjoyed gardening, and loved spending time with family and friends. Vernon is survived by his two daughters, Vicki Regan of Sheboygan and Lynn (Brian) Schukow of Brooklin Park, MN; his son, Craig Schlichting of Sheboygan; three grandchildren, Jessica Schukow, Ashley (Jason Ransome) Regan, and Jacob Regan; two great-grandchildren, Erin and Kayden Ransome. Vernon is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Merlin Schlichting, and his sister, Janice Schlichting. Funeral services to celebrate Vernon's life will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Zion Evangelical Covenant Church in Sheboygan with Rev. Chris McKnight officiating. Inurnment will take place at St. Peters Cemetery in the Town of Rhine. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Thursday from 4:00 pm until the time of the service at 6:00 pm. A memorial fund has been established in Vernon's name for Zion Evangelical Covenant Church. Vernon's family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of the Sharon S.
