Verena "Nana" Bachmann, 86, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2016, at her home. Verena was born in Taycheedah, WI, daughter of Casper and Julia (Koenigs) Enders. She was a 1948 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School. On February 2, 1951, she married Bill Rohde at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sheboygan Falls. Bill passed away on March 10, 2003. On October 2, 1976, she married Peter Bachmann in the Town of Wilson. Peter passed away on July 28, 2011. Verena was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls, where she was involved in the Bereavement Committee, RCIS, and taught CCD. She sang in the Church choir and was active in the prayer chain. Verena worked at the food pantry, was a member of the Crystal Lake Ladies Golf League, bowling league, Fun Club, dance club, and many Bridge clubs. Verena was an avid gardener, enjoyed traveling, socializing and entertaining large parties where everyone was welcomed, loved dancing, cooking, and trying new recipes, especially soup. Verena especially enjoyed spending time with family and taking the entire family on vacations. Family was truly #1 to her. Verena is survived by her two daughters, Deb Rohde (partner Barb) of Madison and Lynn (Rob) Vander Schaaf of Sheboygan Falls; her son, Steve (Mary "Betsy") Rohde of Sheboygan Falls; step-daughter, Patricia (Doug) Livingston-Great Falls, MT; three step-sons, Jarrold (Cheryl) Bachmann of Evergreen, CO, Jack (Lisa) Bachmann of Sheboygan Falls, and Jim (Vicki) Bachmann of Verona; daughter-in-law, Rosanne Bachmann of Sheboygan Falls; five grandchildren, Carly (Tobias) Policha, Douwe Vander Schaaf, Alex Vander Schaaf, Nathan (Desarae) Rohde and Derek Rohde; three great-grandchildren, Seth, Tyler, and Mabel Rohde; nine step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kathy Mervar of Sheboygan and Sally (Steve) Dahlby of Minong, WI; and two brothers, Donald (Joyce) Enders of North Homestead, OH and Gene (Linda) Enders of New Holstein. Verena is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Verena was preceded in death by her husbands, Bill Rohde and Peter Bachmann, her parents, one sister and brother-in-law, Beanie and Bill Janssen, brother-in-law, John Mervar, two step-sons, Jeffrey and Gene Bachmann, and nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass to celebrate Verena's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Relatives and friends may gather at the church on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am. A celebration of Verena's life will be held Saturday, July 16, 2016, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the family farm. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Verena's name for Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, Bookworm Gardens, Sheboygan County Cancer Care, and Alzheimer's Association.
