Verdayne Meyer was born on May 11, 1928, in Brillion, WI, to Edgar and Leona (Ebert) Wolf. She attended Trinity Lutheran Grade School and was a 1946 graduate of Brillion High School. She was well known in Sheboygan Falls as a friendly face at Austin’s Grocery Store, where she worked for 30 years; first as a Clerk and then later as their Bookkeeper.  Early in their marriage, when Claude became disabled, she took on another role making his health her priority.  Her family took to calling her “Dr. Meyer,” but were grateful her efforts had a positive impact on his quality and length of life.

She was a faithful member of Blessed Trinity Parish where she was involved in the Christian Mother’s group and many volunteer groups including the food pantry, funeral luncheon committee, and office help. Her flower and vegetable gardens were her pride and joy.  She also enjoyed reading, cooking, attending card club, traveling, and volunteering at the blood bank.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 149.  Above all, she cherished time with her beloved family, hosting every holiday and spoiling them with her cooking!
