Timothy L. Hammelman, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022 at his home in Cleveland surrounded by his loving family. He was 82 years old.
Tim was born August 16, 1940 in Sheboygan, the son of Walter and Ruth (Frewert) Hammelman. He graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1958 and earned his Bachelors Degree in History from Augustana Lutheran College in Sioux Falls, SD. He went on to serve his country in the United States Army.
On December 28, 1964, Tim was united in marriage with Gloria Haas in Sioux Falls, SD.
Tim worked in IT throughout his entire life. He began working for Bell, where he helped digitalize telephones for direct dialing. He then worked for Federal Land Banks as a VP Director before becoming the VP of IT at Marshfield Clinic where he was part of the team that created digital patient files and lab systems. For a few years, he worked for the Farm Credit Systems installing computer systems across a 5 state region. Later, he enjoyed traveling the world while working for AIM Institute as the VP of IT.
Tim enjoyed attending Sheboygan eFree Church, and singing with the Men of Harmony. An avid outdoorsman and nature lover, Tim loved camping, hiking, fishing, the Boundary Waters and Great Lakes, bird watching, and watching ships come in. He was compassionate and caring, and always willing to help those around him.
Tim is survived by his wife Gloria and their daughters: Theresa (Steven) Amundson of Sheboygan and Greta (GR Svenddal) Hammelman of Minneapolis; grandchildren Nile Sky Hammelman, Mayan (Brett) Briggs and Moqui Joy; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters Letitia McGee of Marietta, GA and Ruthann (Charles) Knox of Omaha, NE; many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother Richard Hammelman.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Sheboygan eFree Church, 1710 N. 15th St. The family will receive visitors at the church on Saturday from 9:00-11:00AM. He will be laid to rest at Wildwood Cemetery in Sheboygan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Sheboygan eFree Reach Fund.
