Thomas Wyk

Thomas J. Van Wyk, 24, of Houston, TX and formerly of Sheboygan Falls, passed away unexpectedly after a lifelong medical struggle on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at his home in Texas. Thomas was born on November 24, 1986 in Sheboygan Falls, son of Dan and Jane (Mulder) Van Wyk. He was a 2005 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High. Thomas attended George Mason University and UW-Sheboygan and graduated from Herzing University in Madison in 2010. Thomas was employed as a Unix Support Analyst with Hewlett Packard in Houston, TX until the time of his death. Thomas was a member of First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls. He had a love for family, especially children and babies. Thomas enjoyed fishing, trapshooting, and had a self-taught knowledge of computer technology. He will always be remembered for his unique and cynical sense of humor and a never ending smile. Thomas is survived by his parents, Dan and Jane; his brother, Brian (Jennifer) Van Wyk of Madison; and his grandparents, William Van Wyk of Sheboygan Falls and Kenneth "Lefty" and Audrey Mulder of Sheboygan Falls. Thomas was looking forward to becoming a uncle in May. He is also survived by uncles, aunts, and cousins. Thomas was preceded in death by his grandmother, Edith Van Wyk. A celebration of Thomas's life will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 6:30 pm at First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls with the Rev. Brad Veenendaal and Rev. Jeremiah Fyffe officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 2:30 pm until the time of the service at 6:30 pm. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Thomas's name for Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.
