Terence J. Scholten

Terence “Terry” Scholten, joined his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. He was 61 years old. 

 Terence was born September 19, 1962 in Sheboygan, the son of John and Beverly (Harmelink) Scholten. He grew up in Oostburg, graduating from Oostburg High School in 1981. 

 On November 24, 2000, Terry was united in marriage with Brenda Mischock at St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Kohler. 

 For over 30 years Terry worked, and later co-owned, Scholten Pattern Works in Sheboygan, where he was a pattern maker. He went on to work as a residential supervisor at Samaritan’s Hand, a position where he made special connections due to his innate ability to empathize with those struggling. 

 Terry was a member of Word of Grace Community Church, and enjoyed attending bible studies at Samaritan’s Hand. He had been a regular attendee at the YMCA, and enjoyed weightlifting. He had an evolving collection of “toys”, and could often be found restoring and building motorcycles, car and boat motors or tinkering with the go-cart he raced. An outdoorsman, Terry enjoyed turtle hunting, spending time at his property up-north, and above all fishing, which is where he was most at peace. His preferred things be simple in his life, but specific and particular. He had an adventurous spirit, and no matter what the hobby or interest, Terry was always “all in”. He was a loving husband and father who leaves behind a legacy of adventure, perseverance and empathy. 

 Terry is survived by his wife, Brenda, and their children Erin and Jacob, all of Sheboygan Falls. He is further survived by his parents John and Beverly Scholten of Oostburg, sisters Angela Scholten of Oak Creek and Jody (Daniel) Debbink of Cedar Grove; sisters-in-law Lisa Perronne and Mary Beth (Michael) Nauschultz; brother-in-law Andrew (Kelly) Mischock; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, neighbors he considered to be his second family, and other friends.

 A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00PM on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Word of Grace Community Church, 837 Buffalo St. in Sheboygan Falls. The family will receive visitors at the church on Tuesday from 3:00-5:00PM.

 In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Samaritan’s Hand.
