Sylvester L. Forstner, 86, formerly of Buffalo Street in Sheboygan Falls died on Saturday morning, April 16, 2011 at Pine Haven Christian Home. Sylvester was born in St. Cloud, Wisconsin on December 13, 1924, the son of the late Joseph and Martha (Franzen) Forstner. He served in the US Army during World War II and was part of the Normandy invasion. On November 19, 1949 he married Mildred J. Marth in Plymouth. Sylvester worked in the foundry at the Kohler Co. for 39 years before his retirement in 1988. Sylvester was a member of the Kohler Quarter Century Club, the Falls Old Timers Club, and the Local 833. He enjoyed woodworking, deer and rabbit hunting. He was an avid vegetable and flower gardener, known for his wide variety of exotic and beautiful zinnias. Sylvester is survived by his wife, Mildred "Molly", a resident at Pine Haven Christian Home; a sister-in-law, Doris (Robert) Aderman of Marion; and a brother-in-law, Ralph Marth of Plymouth; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lorraine Roeber. Funeral services will be held at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 11 am with the Rev. Donald Hasse officiating. Burial and Military Honors will take place at the Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.
