Sue VanEss

Sue C. VanEss, 70, of Cedar Grove died on Saturday night, November 26, 2011. Sue was born on August 12, 1941, in Sheboygan, the daughter of Chris Sr. and Violet (Wald) Evanoff. She graduated from Cedar Grove High school in 1960. On August 13, 1960, she married Roger VanEss in Cedar Grove. Sue was a member of the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove and the ladies group there. She enjoyed cooking, baking, flowers, and crocheting. Sue was caretaker for her grandchildren, a true joy in her life. She is survived by her husband, Roger of Cedar Grove; one daughter, Brenda (Jerry) Depies of Cedar Grove; two sons, Steve (Lettea) VanEss of Kingsport, TN and Calvin ( Jean) VanEss of Belgium; six grandchildren, Kiera, Kaili and Logan Depies, Benjamin and Nicholas VanEss, and Nolan VanEss; three brothers, Chris Evanoff Jr. of Oostburg, George (Jan) Evanoff of Centerville, UT, and John Evanoff North Carolina; one brother-in-law, Philip (Lois) VanEss of Cedar Grove; one sister-in-law, Beatrice VanEss of Plymouth; and a special aunt, Geraldine Reddy of Janesville. Sue is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Sue was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Jonah VanEss; and one sister, Barbara (Vincent) Baker. A funeral service to celebrate Sue's life will be held at the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove on Thursday evening, December 1, 2011, at 6 pm with the Rev. Kent Vant Hul officiating, Burial will take place at the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Friends and family may gather at the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove on Thursday from 4 pm until the time of the service at 6 pm.
