Stanley Lammers, Sr.

Stanley A. Lammers, Sr., 85, of Waldo, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012, at St. Nicholas Hospital. Stanley was born April 11, 1927, in the Town of Lyndon to John B.M. and Esther (Pietenpol) Lammers. He graduated from Waldo High School in 1944 and served in the U.S. Army from 1950-52. On March 21, 1953, Stanley married Ruth Helmer in Sheboygan Falls. Stanley farmed with his father until his father retired and then worked for Foremost Foods in Adell for 25 years, retiring in 1989. Stanley was a member of Hingham Reformed Church, where he served as Deacon and Elder. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #345 in Hingham. Stanley loved his family. He was an avid Beekeeper and also enjoyed gardening, trees, making maple syrup, and playing cards. Stanley is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ruth; four daughters, Jean Lammers of Waldo, Nancy (Steve) Ott of Walton, KY, Mary Behring of Waldo, Amy (David) Diljak of Beaver Dam; one son, Stanley A. Lammers, Jr. of Madison, AL; two grandsons, Alex Behring and Luke Diljak; one granddaughter, Grace Diljak; one step-grandson, Russell Ott; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Stanley is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; two brothers. Funeral Services to celebrate Stanley's life will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Hingham Reformed Church with Rev. Steven J. Bakker officiating. Interment will be in Hingham Cemetery. Relatives and friends may greet Stanley's family from 4-6 pm on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. A memorial fund is being established in Stanley's name for Hingham Reformed Church and Pine Haven Christian Home.
