Sidney Huibregtse

Sidney J. Huibregtse, 54, of Spring Lake, MI, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Wednesday, August 20, 2014. Sid was born on July 28, 1960, in Sheboygan, son of Clarence and Mary Jane (Mauer) Huibregtse. He was a 1978 graduate of Sheboygan North High School and attended UW-Stevens Point for two years. Sid was employed with Bemis Manufacturing before moving to Michigan. Sid was a member of various fishing and bass clubs. He also enjoyed hunting, the Green Bay Packers, dogs, and especially Suzy, his German Wire Hair Pointer. Sid is survived by his mother, Mary Jane Huibregtse of Sheboygan; his two sisters, Linda (Joe) Magritz of Montrose, CO and Jill (Tom) McCormick of Madison; his two brothers, Jeff (Shannon) Huibregtse of Sheboygan and Steve (Kathy) Huibregtse of Brownsville; two nephews, Curt Huibregtse and Jax Mayer; and three nieces, Jessica Magritz, Jordan Mayer, and Kate McCormick. Sid was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Huibregtse, his grandparents Edward and Julie Mauer, and John and Helen Huibregtse. A memorial service to celebrate Sid's life will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls with Fr. Matt Widder officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until the time of the service at 6:00 pm. A memorial fund has been established in Sid's name for the Sheboygan County Humane Society.
