Shirley A. Rodencal, 75, of 821 College Ave., Howards Grove, died Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center after spending the last weeks at Greendale Health Care Center. Shirley was surrounded by family as she was called home by her Lord. She was born February 19, 1932, in the Town of Farmington, Waupaca Co., the daughter of the late Everett and Olga (Johnson) Winkler. Shirley was a 1950 graduate of Iola High School and a 1952 graduate of Waushara County Normal School. She received a Bachelor of Education degree from Lakeland College in 1973. On May 31, 1953 she married Darrel Rodencal at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Auroraville, Wis. Shirley taught in Marquette and Waupaca Counties and did substitute teaching in the area. Shirley attended Evangelical Free Church where she attended Bible studies and taught Sunday school. She enjoyed crocheting afghans for the Linus program; collecting dolls, reading, crossword puzzles, painting, baking, and traveling. Shirley had an interest in genealogy and put together family history that she shared with relatives. Survivors include her husband, Darrel; two daughters, Kathleen Rodencal of Sheboygan, Sue (Dave) Rondeau of Plymouth; one son, Laurie James (Teresa) Rodencal of Oostburg; three grandchildren, Zachary Rondeau, Dustin Rondeau and Caleb Rodencal; one sister, Joan (Del) Behm of Fremont; one brother-in-law, Keith (Diane) Rodencal of Waupaca; sisters-in-law, Sylvia (Fred) Wells of Berlin, Ruby (Darrel) Dunbar of Waupaca and Wanda Hurd of Onalaska. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael, infant daughter, Teresa, parents, two brothers, Darrell and Ronald Winkler, and a brother-in-law, Eugene Rodencal. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Sheboygan, with the Rev. Gary Hylander, pastor, officiating. Burial will take place at Poy Sippi Cemetery in Poy Sippi. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home of Sheboygan Falls on Monday, April 23, 2007 from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in her name.
