Shane Shirk

Shane Shirk, 60, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Shane was born on July 29, 1956 in Gladstone, MI to Lawrence and Frances Shirk. He attended Gladstone High School in Michigan. On May 10, 1980 he married Kathy Mattson. Shane was employed by Bemis Manufacturing until his retirement in 1998. Shane enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all loved spending time with his family. He was proud of his children and grandchildren and loved them to the moon and back. Shane is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kathy; one daughter, Hayley of Sheboygan Falls; one son, Matthew (Jaimie) of Sheboygan; two grandsons, Armoni and Ethan; one sister, Laurie (Ken) VanDrese of Gladstone, MI; three brothers, Michael (Chris) Shirk of Alpine, WY, Larry (Linda) Shirk of Milwaukee, and Jim (Donna) Shirk of Midland, TX; and his mother-in-law, Evelyn Mattson of Mass City, MI. He is further survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Shane was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Kyle; four sisters, Irma Anderkin, Sharon Shirk, Peggy Brown, and Sue Alexander; one brother, Paul Shirk; one nephew, Jeff VanDrese and father-in-law, Jack Mattson. There will be no visitation or service. Relatives and friends may gather on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 1-3pm at Shane's home to share memories and say goodbye. Richardson for all of their excellent care and compassion that they gave to Shane.
