Ruth J. TenPas, 96, of Oostburg, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2013, at Pine Haven Residential in Sheboygan Falls. Ruth was born on January 10, 1917, in the Town of Lima, daughter of Janes and Annie (Lammers) Daane. She attended Banner School. On June 24, 1936, she married Erwin TenPas in the Town of Lima. Erwin passed away on September 11, 1982. Ruth was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg, where she was active in the Martha Society, Fellowship Bible Study, and the senior group. She was also a member of Oostburg Christian School Circle and the hobby club. Ruth enjoyed attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities, baking, especially her molasses cookies, sewing, cooking, gardening, flowers, crocheting, knitting, and embroidery. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Mary (Paul) Lammers of Hingham; two sons, Roy (Ruth) TenPas of Sheboygan Falls and Burt (Judy) TenPas of Oostburg; one son-in-law, Fred (Marlene) Luedtke of Oostburg; 13 grandchildren, Ruth Luedtke, Beth Luedtke, Tricia (Cliff) Morris, Dan (Karen) Luedtke, Todd (Chris) Luedtke, Shara (Rob) Walvoort, Shauna (Joel) Ternes, Jill (Jay) VanEss, Brad (Anne) TenPas, Terry (Jill) TenPas, Jameson "Jamie" (Tanya) TenPas, Melissa (Jason) Stephen, and Kamila (Brian) Hagel; 33 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Marie Berenschot of Sheboygan; one brother, Earl Daane of Florida; one sister-in-law, Corinne Daane of Oostburg; and brother-in-law, Robert (Katie) TenPas of Oostburg; numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Erwin, her daughter, Patricia Luedtke, one sister, Mildred (Hank) TeWinkle, two brothers, Harold Daane and Walter (Joy) Daane, and one brother-in-law, Orlin Berenschot. Funeral services to celebrate Ruth's life will be held at 6 pm on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg with Rev. Tom Pettinga officiating. Burial will take place in Hartman Cemetery in the Town of Wilson. Family and friends will gather at the church on Tuesday from 3 pm until the time of the service at 6 pm. A memorial fund has been established in Ruth's name for the First Christian Reformed Church, Oostburg Christian School, and the Pine Haven Christian Communities.
