Ruth Pietenpol

Ruth E. Pietenpol, 91, of Hingham, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2011 at Gables on the Pond in Random Lake. Ruth was born on February 26, 1920 in the Town of Holland, daughter of Edward and Cena (Ramaker) Pietenpol. She attended Green School and was a 1937 graduate of Oostburg High School. Ruth farmed in the Town of Holland with her sister and brother for many years. She also worked at the Krier Canning Company. Ruth was a lifelong member of Hingham Reformed Church, where she was involved with the Ladies Aid and was a Sunday School teacher. She volunteered with the Red Cross. She enjoyed baseball, cats, and her life and work on the farm. Ruth is survived by her sister, Edna Pietenpol of Gables on the Pond in Random Lake. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Anna (Harley) Dulmes and Ella (Harvey) Dulmes; and one brother, Walter Pietenpol. Funeral services to celebrate Ruth's life will be held at 6 pm on Monday, August 29, 2011 at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg with the Rev. Andy Baker officiating. Burial will take place at the Hingham Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home on Monday from 5-6 pm. A memorial fund has been established in Ruth's name for the Hingham Reformed Church.
