Ruth Nysse

Ruth M. Nysse, 89, of Oostburg, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center with her husband and daughter by her side. Ruth was born on December 29, 1924, in Sheboygan, daughter of Albert and Martha Grams. On January 25, 1947 she married Lloyd C. Nysse, Sr. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. Ruth was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Oostburg. She was member of the We Love to Dance Club in Fond du Lac. Ruth and Lloyd lived in Eagle River for ten years, where she volunteered at nursing homes. Ruth enjoyed sewing, knitting, dance, fishing, crocheting, going to garage sales and auctions, working in the yard, and was an avid reader. Ruth is survived by her husband of 67 years, Lloyd; one daughter, Jane (Robert) Runkel of Cedar Grove; one daughter-in-law, Kay Nysse of California; four grandchildren, Ben (Kristin) Nysse, Alicia Nysse, both of California, Kelley (Erika) Tatroe of Shiocton, and Tammy (Pat) Smith of Belgium; four great-grandchildren, Brittany and Jessica Smith, and Aubrey and Hannah Nysse; and one brother-in-law, Anton Nysse of Eagle River. Ruth is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her son, Lloyd Nysse, Jr, and nine brothers and sisters. Funeral services to celebrate Ruth's life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at First Presbyterian Church in Oostburg with Rev. Brian Jacobson officiating. Burial will take place at Union Cemetery in the Town of Holland. Relatives and friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Friday, June 27, 2014, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and also at the church from 9:00 am until the time of the service at 10:00 am.
