Ruth Leiske

Ruth R. Leiske, 85, of 701 Pine Drive, Oostburg, and formerly of Menomonee Falls, died on Tuesday morning, January 18, 2011 at St. Nicholas Hospital where she was a patient since Sunday. Ruth was born on January 8, 1926 in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late William and Laura (Wald) Rice. She graduated from Washington High School in Milwaukee in 1944. Ruth worked for the Marcus Corp. in Milwaukee for about 10 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Calvary United Church of Christ in Milwaukee and was a longtime volunteer at Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls. She enjoyed traveling, (especially trips to Florida), knitting, gardening, and playing cards. She was an outstanding cook and baker. Ruth is survived by a daughter, Lauran (Allen) Wrubbel of Oostburg, two grandchildren, Patrick Wrubbel of Janesville, and Kelle Wrubbel of Brown Deer. Ruth is also survived by a host of friends and fellow residents at the Pine Haven Christian Home Assisted Living Center in Oostburg. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and a companion, Hank Borecki. Funeral services will be held at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Friday, January 21, 2011 at 6 pm with the Rev. Brian Jacobson, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home on Friday from 4 pm until the time of the service at 6 pm.
