Ruth Lang

Ruth Mary Lang, 92, of Sheboygan Falls passed away on January 30, 2015 at Pine Haven Christian Home. Ruth was born on April 8, 1922 in Milwaukee to George and Marie (Grabske) Surges. She was a 1940 graduate of Mercy High School in Milwaukee and a 1945 graduate of the Milwaukee County General Hospital School of Nursing. During the last 6 months of her schooling she was a cadet nurse in WWII for the naval hospital in Seattle, WA. She was recognized as an officer in the Navy. On July 6, 1946 she married Richard H. Lang in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on January 16, 1982. Ruth worked at the Milwaukee County General Hospital as a night supervisor for 30 years until her retirement in 1981. Ruth was a member of Blessed Trinity. She was also a member of the Slovenian Chorus of U.W. Milwaukee, and she was able to travel to Yugoslavia in the fall of 1984, where they were able to perform. Ruth was an avid reader, loved doing the jumble puzzles in the paper and her time spent in Florida. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Mari Kay (Bruce "her favorite son-in-law) LeRoy of Sheboygan Falls; two grandchildren, B.J. (Shelli) LeRoy of Sheboygan and Kate (Jay) LeRoy of Jacksonport, WI; two great-grandchildren, Sam and Carsyn LeRoy. She is further survived by special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 35 years, Richard, her grandson, David Robert LeRoy and her brother and sister-in-law, Eli (Ethel) Surges. A Memorial Mass will be on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 10am at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Inurnment will take place at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Jacksonport, WI. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at the church from 9am until the time of mass at 10am. A memorial fund has been established in Ruth's name.
