Ruth Lahl

Ruth M. Lahl, 90, of Cedar Grove, passed away on Sunday April 11, 2010 at Columbia St. Mary's Ozaukee in Mequon. Ruth was born on April 7, 1920 in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late Paul and Olga (Klettke) Tippner. She graduated from Washington High School in Milwaukee. On September 12, 1945 she married John R. Lahl in Milwaukee. John preceded her in death on November 24, 1994. Ruth was a member of Roundy Memorial Baptist Church in Whitefish Bay where she was a member of the choir and involved in various church activities. Ruth enjoyed playing the piano, sewing, cooking, singing and gardening. She also enjoyed her card clubs and spending time with her family. Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Donna Lahl of Shorewood and Nancy Blackhawk of Cedar Grove; one son James (Chong) Lahl of Bayside; five grandchildren, Candace Leider, Courtney (fiance' Jesse Reil) Blackhawk, Chelsia Blackhawk, Kimberly (Eric) Batterson, John (Cynthia) Lahl; six great-grandchildren, Casey, Sam, Leah, Jaden, Gavin, and Hannah; and other relatives and friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, and two sisters, Anita and Leonie. Funeral services for Ruth will be held on Friday April 16, 2010 at 12:00 pm in the family center at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield with Rev. David Van Dixhorn of First Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Cedar Grove officiating. Private family burial will take place at Wisconsin Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may call at the family center from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 12:00 pm. A memorial fund has been established in Ruth's name.
