Ruth Korff

Ruth A. Korff, 96, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2009 at Pine Haven Nursing Home. Ruth was born on March 14, 1913 in Sheboygan, daughter of the late William and Adele (Henkelmann) Schmidt. She was a 1931 graduate of Sheboygan Central High School. On June 22, 1935 she married Marvin E. Korff at Bethany Lutheran Church in Kohler. Marvin preceded her in death on January 23, 1996. Ruth was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and houseplants. Ruth is survived by her four sons, Russell (Janet) Korff of Sheboygan Falls, Dale (Delores) Korff of The Villages, FL, Brian (Sally) Korff of Sheboygan Falls, and Craig (Carol) Korff of Sheboygan Falls; ten grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Marion Korff of Kohler; and a sister-in-law, Edna Schmidt of Sheboygan. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her three brothers, William, Walter, and Harvey Schmidt. Private funeral services were held at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls with the Rev. Mark Janzen officiating. Burial took place at Woodland Cemetery in Kohler. A memorial fund has been established in her name for Pine Haven Christian Home and St. Paul Lutheran Church.
