Ruth Meinen Heinen Kruis

Ruth Meinen Heinen Kruis went to the arms of her Savior on Thursday morning, April 10, 2025. She was 92 years old.

Ruth was born in Sheboygan Falls on January 25, 1933, the daughter of Arthur and Emily (Meylink) Meinen. Ruth graduated from Cedar Grove High School in 1951. On May 28, 1952, she married Harold Heinen at First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove. He preceded her in death on January 4, 2002. Ruth then married Lester Kruis, an agent for State Farm, on November 29, 2002. While vacationing in Florida, he passed away on January 18, 2006.

Ruth enjoyed the dry-cleaning occupation at Dutch Cleaners and Young’s Cleaners for over 50 years. She enjoyed gospel music, sang in Gibbsville Double Trio and choirs for many years. Ruth and Lester were facilitators with Gibbsville Reformed Church Grief Sharing Groups, and Ruth was a Bethany Circle Member and also taught Sunday School and Bible Classes.

Ruth is survived by her children: Vicki Weinhold of Oostburg, Tony (Jean) Heinen of Sun City West, AZ and Rosemary TeBeest of Random Lake; grandchildren: Joseph Weinhold, Samantha Luedtke, Thomas (Lisa) Heinen, Megan Heinen, Patrick Heinen, Phillip Heinen, Michael TeBeest, Steven (Becky) TeBeest, Scott (Brittany) TeBeest and Chauntelle (William) Newberry; great-grandchildren Toby, Jaxon, Parker, Peyton, Kennedy, Ayden, Hudson, Grant, Brystal, Leland and Wyatt; sister Vera (Ray) Lammers; sisters-in-law Muriel Meinen and Marjorie TeWinkle; nieces, nephews, extended Heinen and Kruis relatives and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husbands Harold and Lester, brothers Owen (Dolores), Robert (Lenore), Earl (Frances) and Wayne Meinen, and Heinen and Kruis brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

A funeral service will be held for Ruth at Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 1:00pm. She will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery in the Town of Holland.

Relatives and friends may greet the family at the funeral home from 11:00am until the time of service.

Memorials are appreciated in Ruth’s name to Gibbsville Church and Pine Haven Christian Communities.
