Ruth A. Edinger, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 6, 2007, at Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls. Mrs. Edinger was born January 12, 1919, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. She was the second of six children born to Arthur F. and Esther Leverson Hanson. During her school years she lived in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. She graduated from Moorhead State College in Moorhead, Minnesota, and then taught school in Harvey, North Dakota; Two Harbors, Minnesota; and Minneapolis, Minnesota. She also worked for Child Evangelism Fellowship in Washington State. On June 9, 1951, she married Eldien S. Edinger in Mora, Minnesota. They moved to Fargo, North Dakota, in 1953. While living in Fargo, she was active in Child Evangelism Fellowship and worked some years as a first-grade teacher. The family later moved to Glyndon, Minnesota. After the death of her husband in 1989, Ruth moved to Sheboygan County where she lived until her death. She loved birds and wild flowers and taking walks. Ruth practiced hospitality often and well. She was also a Sunday school teacher and an instructor for Bible Study Fellowship for a number of years. Mrs. Edinger is survived by three daughters, Nancy (Richard) Crombie, Highlands Ranch, Colorado; Jill (Dennis) Schilling, Sheboygan Falls; and Karen (William) Pickering, Malone; a sister, Rachel Asp, Minneapolis, Minnesota and a brother, Robert Hanson, Seattle, Washington; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Iris Hanson of Fargo, North Dakota; a brother-in-law, Allen Hanson of Sheboygan She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Esther Hanson; and two brothers, Daniel and David Hanson. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2007, at 3:00 p.m. at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Cass County, North Dakota.
