Russell A. Yancey, 88, of Sheboygan, died Wednesday, August 5, 2010 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Russell was born July 7, 1922 to John and Manilla (Haag) Yancey in Ladysmith, WI. He attended Sheboygan Falls High School. Russell served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. On March 13, 1946 he married Doris Stipe in Sheboygan. Russell enjoyed golfing, woodworking, auto racing, and baseball. Russell is survived by: his wife, Doris; one daughter, LaVonne (John) Frank of Madison; one son, Mike (Mary) Yancey of Sheboygan Falls; one granddaughter, Dawn Yancey; one grandson, Matt (Rachel) Yancey; two great-grandsons, Austin and Bryce Yancey; one brother, Robert Yancey; other relatives and friends. Russell was preceded in death by: his parents; one sister, Verona Ziemke. Funeral services for Russell will be at 12:00 noon on Friday (TODAY) at the Chapel of Eternal Light, Garden of Peace Mausoleum at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Pastor Don Hasse officiating. Relatives and friends may call one hour prior to the service at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, Russell's family requests that memorials be directed to the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in his name.
