RoseMarie Senkbeil of Sheboygan, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Sheboygan Senior Community. God sent this beautiful angel and blessed her with nearly 105 years on the earth to love, teach, and spread His word. As far as the family is informed, RoseMarie was the oldest resident of Sheboygan County.
RoseMarie was born on August 23, 1919, in the Town of Meeme to Peter “Pius” and Anna (Groh) Willmas as the second child of four.
She was united in marriage to Marvin L. “Sonny” Senkbeil on December 4, 1943, in Columbus, Georgia, while Marvin was serving in the US Army during World War II. Together they had four children: Dianne, Lawrence, Russell and Pamela. Marvin preceded her in death in 1990.
RoseMarie’s great love of God and family helped her embrace any challenge. She always expected nothing less of her children. She was very active at St. Dominic and St. Cyril & Methodius Parishes and was involved in Christian mothers and Catholic Women’s Charities organizations. RoseMarie volunteered for many church functions over the years. She especially loved baking goods for the nuns at both parishes and working with the school children at St. Cyril and did many quilting projects for charity. RoseMarie currently was a member at Blessed Trinity Catholic Parish.
RoseMarie’s greatest love was cooking and baking. Each meal was made from scratch, with produce from the garden, and a homemade dessert. Saturdays were saved for baking 8 loaves of homemade bread, donuts, coffee cakes, cookies, and other sweets for the next week. Christmas time looked like a bakery shop in her home. RoseMarie also loved making homemade pickles, jams, and many other canned goods. Somehow, she found time for sewing, knitting, and crocheting as well. RoseMarie will forever be in our hearts and prayers. She is now in her Eternal Home.
RoseMarie is survived by her children, Dianne (Dennis) Gatzke, Lawrence (Marilyn) Senkbeil, Russell (Carol) Senkbeil, Pamela (Michael) Goldmann; 13 grandchildren, Trina (Dave) Hogue, Chad Senkbeil, Peter (Sara) Senkbeil, Brian (Nicole) Senkbeil, Chris Senkbeil, Cory Senkbeil, Maria (Joseph) Kelly, James (Amanda) Senkbeil, Christopher (Jessica) Gatzke, Tricia Senkbeil, Timothy (Jennifer) Goldmann, Kevin Senkbeil, Andrew (Amber) Goldmann; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; parents; siblings, Florian (Mary) Willmas, Zita (Ernest) Perron, Louise (William) Gaston; siblings-in-law, Marguerite (George) Hert, Gertrude (Henry) Holzhausen, Wilma (Matthew) Klujeske, Grace (Fred) Kaiser, Elaine (Arthur) Klokow, Kenneth (Phyllis) Senkbeil, Darlene (Roger) Neubert.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Blessed Trinity Catholic Parish on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 1:00pm. Entombment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Relatives and friends may greet the family at church from 11:30am until the time of mass.
