Ronald Gooding

Ronald M. Gooding, 80, of Sheboygan Falls passed away on Friday, December 26, 2014 at his home. Ronald was born on December 19, 1934 in Wabeno, WI to Harry and Hattie (Jacobs) Gooding. He attended Channing High School in Michigan. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1953-1956. Ron married Nancy Lakonen on May 18, 1974, in Sheboygan. She preceded him in death on June 17, 2013. Ronald was a Laborer at Kohler Company for 30 years. Ronald was a member of the American Legion Post 149. He enjoyed traveling, playing cards, especially cribbage, coin collecting and had a love for animals. Ronald is survived by his two sons, Ronald (Janelle) Gooding of Sheboygan and Scott (Tracey) Gooding of Michigan; his daughter, Kim Hammond of Michigan; six grandchildren, Holly, Amber and Tina Gooding, Kenny Verschoof, Vanessa Hammond and Tommy Gooding; three great-grandchildren, Cameron, Ali and Kiley; one brother, Douglas Gooding of Michigan. He is further survived by 2 adopted grandchildren, Samantha and Caitlyn Teetzen, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Nancy, 8 sisters and 2 brothers. A funeral Service to celebrate Ronald's life will be on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 11am at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. David Van Dixhorn officiating. Entombment will take place at Garden of Peace Mausoleum in Sheboygan with Military Honors. Relatives and Friends may gather at the funeral home on Friday from 9am until the time of service at 11am. A memorial fund for the VFW in Ronald's name is being established.
