Roger W. Rieth, 78, of Sheboygan, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Aurora Sheboygan Medical Center. Roger was born on January 1, 1939, in the Town of New Holstein, son of Arthur and Irene (Winter) Rieth. He attended St. Anna Catholic Grade School and New Holstein High School. Roger served his country in the United States Army from 1957-1960. On September 28, 1960, he married Jeanette Schmitt in Cleveland. Roger was employed as a milk hauler for Athorp Trucking for 20 years until his retirement in 1994. He was also employed with Lake to Lake Dairy in Kiel as a cheesemaker, and worked on various area farms. Roger enjoyed woodworking, mowing lawn with his John Deere, fishing, bird and squirrel watching, jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with his family. Roger is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jeanette; his daughter, Joan (Grady Jr.) Clark of Glendale; his four sons, Thomas Rieth of Cleveland, Joseph Rieth of Elkhart Lake, James (Sherry) Rieth of Howards Grove, and Daniel Rieth of Cleveland; ten grandchildren, Grady IV (friend Shelbie) Clark, Alex Clark, Andrew (Kim) Rieth, Randy Penney Jr., Angela (Greg) Kemp, Shannon Martinez, April (Jacob) Hermann, Mark (Cassie) Rieth, Kyle (friend Jessica) Arpke, and Justice (friend Emma) Rieth; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Ann (DuWayne) Buelow of New Holstein and Diane (Tom) Brunner of Manitowoc; and one brother, Nicholas (Betty) Rieth of Sheboygan Falls. Roger is further survived by six sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Salm of Cleveland, Dorothy Bogenschuetz of Sheboygan, Margaret (Tom) Steinbrecker of Green Bay, Catherine Schmitt of Sheboygan, Marlene (Richard) Boje of Kiel, and Georgianne (Bob) Roeh of Cleveland; and two brothers-in-law, James (Connie) Schmitt of Sheboygan and Ralph (Jan) Schmitt of Elkhart Lake. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers-in-law, Charles (Diane) Schmitt and Donald Salm. Funeral services to celebrate Roger's life will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday, February 13, 2017, at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls. Entombment with military honors will take place at Gardens of Peace Mausoleum in the Town of Sheboygan. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 3:00 pm until the time of the service at 6:00 pm. A memorial fund has been established in Roger's name.
