Robert L. Vreeke, 56, of Sheboygan, died on Thursday night, December 4, 2014 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Center following a courageous three year battle with cancer. Bob was born on October 31, 1958 in Sheboygan, the son of Andrew and LuAnn (Hackbarth) Vreeke. Bob graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1977. On May 17, 1986 he married the love of his life, Paula J. Greger in Sheboygan. He was an equipment operator and worked for the City of Sheboygan for the past 34 years. Bob attended Remedy Church in Sheboygan. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and enjoyed duck hunting trips to North Dakota. He looked forward to deer hunting with his friends, fishing, grilling and spending time with his family. Bob enjoyed attending his grandchildren's school and sporting activities and was very fond of his dog, Coco. He is survived by his wife, Paula of Sheboygan; two daughters, Nicole (Terry) Hendrikse of Oostburg, Krista Vreeke of Sheboygan; one son, Justin (Jennifer) Craney of Denver, CO; his father, Andrew Vreeke of Sheboygan; four grandchildren known as his "babies", Madelyn, Mackena, Aiden and Alecs Hendrikse; one sister, Wendy (Jarod) Blacklock of Green Bay; one brother, Troy (Jane) Vreeke of Sheboygan; three sisters-in-law, Sue (Karl) Schappelwein, Peggy (Brian) Ayers, and Cathy (Glen) Rakow, all of Sheboygan; and one brother-in-law, Tim (Janine) Greger of Sheboygan. Bob is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Bob was preceded in death by his mother, LuAnn Vreeke. A memorial service to celebrate Bob's life will take place at Bethany Reformed Church, 1315 Washington Avenue, Sheboygan, on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at 6:30 pm with Pastor Bob Abel officiating. Family and friends will gather at Bethany Reformed Church on Wednesday from 2:30 until the time of the service at 6:30pm. The Vreeke family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Kumar and the caregivers at Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic, Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center, and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Center for the loving and dedicated care given to Bob and their family.
