Robert E. Knepprath, 79, of Sheboygan Falls and formerly Adell, passed away Wednesday April 14, 2010 at Sunny Ridge Health Care Center in Sheboygan where he had resided for the past five years. Robert was born on April 7, 1931 in the Town of Holland, son of the late William and Rose (Krause) Knepprath. He attended Cedar Grove schools and served in the U.S. Army from 1952-53. On October 24, 1959 he married Carol Nytes in Lake Church. Robert was employed by Krier Foods in Random Lake until the time of his retirement in 1998. He was previously employed with Gilson Manufacturing in Plymouth for 23 years. Robert was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls and formerly a member of St. Patrick Church in Adell. He belonged to the Adell Senior Center, was an Adell Fire Department volunteer, a Boy Scout Leader and a lifetime member of DAV. Robert enjoyed woodworking, camping, gardening, playing Sheepshead, spending time with his family and grandchildren and loved being with people. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Carol; two daughters, Deborah (special friend Doug) Arndt of Random Lake and Linda (Joel) Dulmes of Gibbsville; one son, James (Sara) Knepprath; five grandchildren, Lisa and Samantha Arndt, Jerrid, Brady and Brooke Dulmes; three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Carter and Madilyn Arndt; two sisters, Marion Schmidt of Sheboygan Falls and Marcella Knepprath of Fond du Lac; three brothers, Clarence Knepprath of Saukville, Edwin (Marion) Knepprath of Sheboygan Falls and William Jr. (Loretta) Knepprath of Saukville; three sisters-in-law, Lucy (Richard) Gilsdorf of Sheboygan Falls, Rosie (Harold) Whipple of Sheboygan, Donna (Greg) Blanke of Sheboygan; two brothers-in-law, Jake Nytes of Sheboygan and Ernest (Sherri) Nytes of Plymouth. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law Gene Schmidt and two sisters-in-law Lorraine Brown and Julie Nytes. Funeral services for Robert will be held on Monday, April19, 2010 at 10:30 am at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls with the Rev. Richard Cerpich officiating. Burial will take place in St. Patrick Cemetery in the Town of Sherman. Relatives and friends may call at the church from 9:00 am until the time of the service at 10:30 am. A memorial fund has been established in Robert's name for Poor Saint Clairs in Kokomo, IN, the Adell Senior Center and Sunny Ridge Health Care Center.
