Robert Hunter

May 17, 1926 — August 16, 2015

Robert Hunter, 89, formerly of Danvers, IL died on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Pine Haven Residential in Sheboygan Falls, WI where he had resided for less than two years. Robert was born in Peoria, IL, the son of the late William and Frances Hunter. He graduated from Danvers High School in 1944. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II in the Pacific. Robert was an electrician for General Electric in Bloomington, IL prior to his retirement in 1986. He married his wife Mary in Bloomington in 1957. She preceded him in death by 13 years. He is survived by his daughter, Louise (David) Huenink of Cedar Grove, WI; son-in-law, Larry Fauber of Bartonville, IL; grandchildren, Mark (Kari) Fauber and Tammy (Steve) Stroud; and two great grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; sister, Jean Jordan; brother, William; and step-daughter, Judy Fauber. Robert was active in the Masonic Lodge, the Shriners, the Elks and other fraternal organizations. He enjoyed dancing, roller skating, farming and small engine repair. A memorial service celebrating Robert's life will take place at the Zion Lutheran Church in Danvers on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 3:30 pm. A memorial fund is being established in his memory for Pine Haven Christian Communities and the Masonic Lodge. The staffs of the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls (920-564-2771) and the Zion Lutheran Church in Danvers (309-963-4825) are serving the Hunter family.
