Robert Glancey

Robert I. Glancey, 91, of Greenfield, and a resident of Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2015, at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. Robert was born on February 1, 1923, in West Allis, the son of James C. and Pearle A. (Emard) Glancey. He graduated from Pius XI High School in Milwaukee in 1940. On August 14, 1948 he married Jane Ward in Milwaukee. Jane preceded him in death on October 27, 2014 following 66 years of marriage. Robert was a journeyman machinist for Allis Chalmers in Milwaukee for over 38 years before his retirement in 1980. Robert was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish in Milwaukee, the Catholic Order of Foresters, and the UAW Retiree Club. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, fix-it projects, playing cards, going for walks, and spending cherished time with his family. Robert is survived by his son, Duane "Dewey" (Julie) Glancey of Sheboygan Falls; his daughter, Eileen (Roger) Clauer of Waukesha; ; five grandchildren, Patrick (Melissa) Glancey and Michael (Stacy) Glancey , Kate (Jason) Gscheidmeier, Kimberly (Ryan) deJonckheere, and James Clauer; 11 great grandchildren, Sean, Carley, Noah, Carter, Keaton, Elizabeth, Amelia, Keira, Aiden, Hadley, and Emily; two sisters, Veronica (Harold) Garvey of West Allis and Sr. Mary Alfonso (Ione) Glancey of Madison; and one sister-in-law, Patricia Glancey of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Jane; one son, Robert J. Glancey; two sisters, Louanna (Carol) Duren and Magdalene Glancey; and two brothers, Norbert (Ruth) Glancey and Leroy Glancey. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Robert's life will be held at 11 am on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Blessed Sacrament Parish located at 3100 South 41st Street, Milwaukee with Rev. Robert Turner officiating. Entombment will take place at St. Adalbert's Catholic Mausoleum in Milwaukee. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 9am until the time of the Mass at 11 am. A memorial fund has been established in Robert's name for the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters, 585 County Road Z, Sinsinawa, WI 53824-9701.
