Robert Jack DenBoer, 92, of Sheboygan, went home peacefully to his Lord with his family at his side on Monday, June 19, 2017 at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center.Bob was born on February 5, 1925 in Sheboygan to John and Katherine (Traas) DenBoer. He is a 1942 graduate of Sheboygan North High School. Bob then served his country in the United States Navy, from 1943-46, during WWII. On August 22, 1947 he married Carol Jensema at Gibbsville Reformed Chruch. Bob worked at the Kohler Company for over 43 years, until his retirement in 1990.Bob was a member of Christ Community Church (First Christian Reformed) in Sheboygan, where he served as an usher, deacon, elder, member of the Golden Agers, sang in the church choir, played in the church band and was the radio program director. Bob was also on the Sheboygan Christian School Board, a charter member and business manager of Men of Harmony for 26 years. He also served at Crossroads Bible Institute, a prison ministry, for 19 years. Bob enjoyed traveling, and sports, especially baseball, basketball and golf.Bob is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Carol; one son, Rodney DenBoer of Waukesha; two daughters, Patricia (Charles) Brendel and Sue (Joseph) See both of Sheboygan; six grandchildren, Dr. John (Natalie) DenBoer, David DenBoer, Nathan (Briana) Brendel, Stephanie (Chase) Nelson, Jeremy (Heather) See, and Jaclyn (Aaron) Weigand; and ten great-grandchildren, Jackson, Addison, Brody, Cooper, Emma, Liam, Parker, Alyssa, Samuel and Robert. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Lucille (Robert) Voss and Carol Mae (Norman) VerVelde.A funeral service to celebrate Bob's life will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017, at 11am at Christ Community Church (First Christian Reformed) in Sheboygan. An interment will follow the service at Gibbsville Cemetery.Relatives and friends may greet the family Friday, June 30, 2017, at Christ Community Church (First Christian Reformed) from 9am until the time of service at 11am. A memorial fund is being established for the Crossroads Bible Institute in Bob's memory.The family would like to extend a special thanks to Sheboygan Progressive Health Care for their compassionate and loving care.The staff of the Wenig Funeral Home of Sheboygan Falls (920-467-3431) is assisting the DenBoer family with arrangements.
