Robert Burns

Robert H. Burns, 65, of W3448 Heuver Road, Cedar Grove, died on Tuesday evening, January 30, 2007 at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center where he had resided for the past two days following a battle with cancer. Bob was born on August 11, 1941, in Milwaukee, the son of the late Charles W. and Loretta K. (Strehlow) Burns. He graduated from Shorewood High School in 1959. On November 26, 1965, he married the former Judith Hirstein in Elko, Nevada. Bob worked in the maintenance department for the Cedar Grove- Belgium School District for 15 years before his retirement in 2006. He enjoyed attending Road America in Elkhart Lake and working in his greenhouse. Bob is survived by his wife, Judy of Cedar Grove; three daughters, Christine Bonebrake of Elkhart Lake, Deanna (Dennis) Sheffield of Sheboygan and Lynn (Ryan) Johnson of Seymour; one son, Philip (Michelle) Burns of Cedar Grove; six grandchildren, Brandon, Brock and Amber Bonebrake, Pamela Sheffield, Sara and Chloe Burns; his mother-in-law, Katherine Hirstein of Antigo; and one sister-in-law, Sandra (Don) Hanson of Antigo. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Friday, February 2, 2007 at 7 pm with the Rev David VanDixhorn officiating. Burial will take place at Presbyterian Cemetery in the Town of Holland. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Friday from 4 pm until the time of service at 7 pm.
