Richard VanWeelden Sr

Richard T. VanWeelden Sr., 77, of Hales Corners, died on Saturday afternoon, July 11, 2009 at St. Luke Medical Center in Milwaukee. Richard was born on September 28, 1931 in Milwaukee, the son of the late Jacob and Florence (Boldt) VanWeelden. He graduated from Bayview High School in 1948. Richard worked as a plastering contractor being self employed and also working for Cezar Drywalling in the Milwaukee area. He was a member of the Plaster, Cement, and Mason Union and the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed reading and writing poetry, fishing, music, telling jokes, home remodeling and spending time with his family. He is survived by five daughters; Jeanette (Jerry) Jupp of Dousman, Katherine (Bruce) Wenzel of Hales Corners, Donna (David) Limon of Milwaukee, Susan (Ron) Klement of Greendale, and Mary Barbe of Milwaukee; one son, Richard (Christine) VanWeelden Jr. of Brookfield; 19 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one sister, Joan Kubetz of New Berlin; and one brother-in-law, Bud Clopper of Milwaukee. Richard was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Julie Tyloch; four sisters, two infant sisters, Marian (Norm) McWilliams and Bernice Clopper; and one brother, George (Dorothy) VanWeelden. Funeral services will be held at the Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at 1:30 pm with the Rev. Earl Slotman officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in the Town of Holland. Friends may greet the family at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Monday (TODAY) from 4-8 pm, and on Tuesday, at church from 12:30 until the time of the service at 1:30 pm.
