Richard L. Manthey, 54, of 538 Forest Blvd, Sheboygan Falls died unexpectedly from an apparent heart attack on Sunday, July 13, 2008 at St. Nicholas Hospital. Rick was born on October 8, 1953 in Fond du Lac, the son of Lawrence Manthey and the late Jane (Schommer) Manthey. He graduated from St. Lawrence Seminary in Mt. Calvary in 1973. On September 10, 1976 he married the former Gail A. Stephenson at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. Rick worked at Kohler General for over 30 years. He was a member at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls. He was the family handyman and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, watching the Milwaukee Brewers and NASCAR, and spending time with his faithful companion, Jackson. He is survived by his wife, Gail; his father, Lawrence (Eugenie) Manthey of Sheboygan Falls; two sisters, Sandra (Patrick) Finnerty of Middleton and Mary Lou (Wayne II) Ellinghausen of New Berlin; one sister-in-law, Jill (Mark) Aschenbach of Sheboygan; three nephews, Wayne II and Adam Ellinghausen, Mark Aschenbach Jr. and a niece, Debra (fiancé Steven Neeb) Aschenbach. Rick was preceded in death by his mother, Jane Manthey; and an infant brother, Jeffrey Manthey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at 7 pm with Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Entombment will take place at the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum in the Town of Sheboygan. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 4 pm until the time of Mass at 7 pm.
