Rev. Gordon L. Tritchler, 96, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Tuesday morning, November 15, 2011 at Pine Haven Residential Home in Sheboygan Falls. Gordon was born on December 16, 1914 in Buffalo, NY, son of Lynn and Anne (Schroeder) Tritchler. He was a 1933 graduate of Buffalo Technical High School. He attended Anderson College in Indiana. He was a 1940 graduate of the Mission House (Lakeland College) and a 1943 graduate of the Mission House Seminary. He married Arline Lensink on June 1, 1943 in Oostburg. Arline passed away on April 28, 2007. Gordon was an ordained minister all of his life, serving in Portage, WI; Buffalo, NY; Youngstown, OH; Omaha and Elgin, NE; Dayton, WA; Wheatland, WY; Bryant and Willow Lake, SD. After retiring, he served as interim pastor at Random Lake, Campbellsport and Cedar Grove. He also served as chaplain at the local hospitals. He was a member of St. Paul UCC in Sheboygan and the Masonic Lodges in Plymouth and Sheboygan Falls. Gordon loved being a minister and meeting new people. In his leisure time he enjoyed volleyball, tennis, and spending time at the Sheboygan YMCA. Gordon was a loving husband and father. He will be remembered by many whose lives were touched through his ministry. Gordon always saw the best in everyone. He was a kind and caring man who will be greatly missed. Gordon is survived by his daughter, Joan (William Morse) Tritchler of Seattle, WA; his son, David (Shelagh Emmott) Tritchler of Toronto, Ontario; one granddaughter, Rachel Morse; and his sister, Janet Oberst of Pompano Beach, FL. Gordon is also survived by other relatives and friends. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Arline; two brothers, Kenneth and Donald Tritchler. Funeral services to celebrate Gordon's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Mark E. Jaberg officiating. Interment will be in Oostburg Cemetery in the Town of Holland. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am. A lunch will follow. A memorial fund has been established in Gordon's name for St. Paul UCC and the Sheboygan YMCA.
