Raymond Leon Schueffner Raymond L. Schueffner, 93, formerly of West Bend and Sheboygan Falls died on Thursday, November 27, 2008 at Rockford Memorial Medical Center. Raymond was born on October 11, 1915 in Sheboygan Falls, the son of the late William and Lottie (Littlefield) Schueffner. He graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1933, the Stevens Point State University in 1947 and received his MS degree from Colorado State University in 1954. On June 25, 1938 he married the late Iva F. Gilmore in Sheboygan Falls. Iva preceded Ray in death on March 22, 2003. Ray was an elementary teacher in the Sheboygan County and Beloit school districts and a principal and teacher in the Racine Unified School District for 43 years up until his retirement in 1978. Following his educational career he and his wife opened Treasure Chest Gift Shop in Racine for several years. Ray and his wife resided at the Cedar Community in West Bend during their retirement years. Following his wife's death he moved to Wesley Willows in Rockford up until the time of his death. Ray was a member of Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church in West Bend, Retired Teachers of Washington County, Wisconsin Retired Educators Assoc., and Phi Delta Kappa, Chapter 1123 in Kenosha-Racine. He was also a member of West Bend Lodge No. 138, F&AM and, earlier, St. Johns Lodge No. 24, F&AM in Sheboygan Falls. Ray enjoyed photography, chair caning, antiques, calligraphy, and paper quilling. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra (Rev. Ross) Aden of Roscoe, IL, his son, Glenn (Judith) Schueffner of Racine; three grandchildren, Steven (Missy) Aden of Grand Rapids, Scott Aden of Indianapolis, and Gregg (fiancé Aimee Kruse) Schueffner of Racine; three great grandchildren, Emma Jean, Grace Ann, and David Ehme Aden. Ray was looking forward to the birth of another great grandchild in spring. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Gwen Schueffner of Sheboygan Falls. Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Iva; one sister, Clara Wimmler; and two brothers, a twin, Robert, and Arno Schueffner. Funeral services will be held at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Monday, December 1, 2008 at Noon with the Rev. Janis Best officiating. Burial will take place at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Monday from 10 am until the time of the service at Noon.
