Raymond P. Loomis, 89, of Sheboygan Falls died on Sunday morning, September 2, 2012 at St. Nicholas Hospital. Raymond was born on March 2, 1923, the son of the late John and Clara (Lau) Loomis. He graduated from Oostburg High School in 1941 and then served in the US Air Force during World War II. On October 26, 1946 he married Dorothy Kohlman in Sheboygan Falls. Dorothy preceded Ray in death on February 7, 2004. Raymond worked in inventory control at Kohler General for over 30 years before his retirement. He was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church where he served on the church council. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. Ray enjoyed woodworking, yard work, traveling, stamp collecting and playing chess. Ray is survived by his son, Philip S. Loomis of Jersey City, NJ; one granddaughter, Jennifer (Alec) Tantillo of Long Island, NY; one niece, Lois (Russell) Wells of Sheboygan; four great nieces and nephews. Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; one sister, Ruth (Frederick) Blust, and one brother, Gerald Loomis. A celebration of Raymond's life will be held at a funeral service at 7 pm on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls with the Rev. Donald Drollinger officiating. Military Honors will follow the service. Burial will take place at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.
