Raymond DeBlaey

Raymond DeBlaey, 89, of Oostburg died on Easter Sunday morning, March 31, 2013 at the Gables on the Pond in Random Lake where he had resided since November. Raymond was born on June 22, 1923 in the Town of Holland, the son of the late Harry and Susanna (Dirkse) DeBlaey. He attended Oostburg High School. Raymond proudly served in the US Army during World War II in the European Theatre from 1943-45. Raymond was a dairy farmer for many years working the family farm in the Town of Holland. He was a lifelong member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg. He also belonged to the Sheboygan County Farm Bureau. Raymond enjoyed reading, hunting, electronics, and was very mechanically inclined. Raymond is survived by a brother, Allan (Evelyn) DeBlaey of Random Lake; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Donald (Gloria and Dena) DeBlaey; and one sister-in-law, Marian DeBlaey. A funeral to celebrate Raymond's life will be held at the First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 11 am with the Rev. Tom Pettinga officiating. Military Honors will follow. Private family burial will take place at the Hartman Cemetery in the Town of Wilson. Friends and family will gather at the church on Wednesday from 9 am until the time of the service at 11 am.
