Pearl J. Nyenhuis, 94, of Cedar Grove and Oostburg, died Wednesday evening, February 11, 2009 at Cedar Grove Gardens. She was born September 16, 1914 in Cedar Grove, the daughter of the late William and Anna (DeBruine) Huenink. Pearl attended Antigo Schools and Wisconsin Memorial Academy. On February 5, 1937 she married Lester Nyenhuis in Cedar Grove. He preceded her in death on June 1, 1996. Pearl and her husband owned and operated Cedar Grove Dairy for 20 years. Later they owned the Coin-Op Dry Cleaning and Laundry in Cedar Grove for about 20 years before her retirement. Pearl was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Grove and it's Loyal Hearts, and women's organizations at church. She was an organist and sang in the choir. Pearl enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, and making heirloom doilies. Survivors include four daughters, Rogene (William) Bartlett of Plymouth, Judy (Leroy) Greupink of Oostburg, Marilyn (Earl) Voskuil of Oostburg, Marita Fritz of St. Germain; 15 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; one sister, June Claerbaut of Sheboygan Falls; one brother, Merle (Loretta) Huenink of Waukesha; three sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester, two brothers, Ken and Harold Huenink and an infant sister. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg, with the Rev. John Tinsley, officiating. Burial will take place at Presbyterian Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established for Cedar Grove Gardens and Heartland Hospice.
