Pauline G. Katsma, 79, of Oostburg died peacefully on Wednesday, night, December 19, 2012 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Center. Pauline was born on September 20, 1933 in Sheboygan, the daughter of the late Earl J. and Alda J. (Bloemers) Schreurs. Pauline graduated from Oostburg High School in 1951 and then attended Western Union School in Minneapolis. On November 17, 1962 she married Gerald Katsma in Oostburg. Pauline was a devoted homemaker and worked part-time at Kool Kitchen-FerrellGas in Oostburg. From 1973 until 1981 she was a self-employed wallpaper hanger. Pauline was an active and devoted member at the First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg, where she was part of the Martha and Joy Circles, taught Sunday School and Catechism Classes, sang in the choir, and was a GEMS leader. She was manager of the Corner Store at Pine Haven Christian Home for over 25 years, and was a member of the Oostburg Christian School Circle. Pauline is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gerald; three daughters, MaryJo (Phil) VanTatenhove of Gibbsville, Julie (Kurt) Wisse of Oostburg, and Lana (Joel) TenDolle of Hingham; eight grandchildren, Mallory, Megan, Samuel and Madison VanTatenhove, April (Luke) Launer, Brandon and Erin Wisse and Justin TenDolle; one sister, Doris (Larry) Wieberdink of Oostburg; two brothers, Myles (Karen) Schreurs and Donald (Jean) Schreurs, both of Cedar Grove; eight sisters-in-law, Charlene Schreurs of Oostburg, Dorothy (Carl) Blok of Oostburg, Katie Boorsma of Randolph, Elsie Winkel of Waupun, Dorothy Leystra of Cambria, Evelyn VanderGalien of Friesland, Ann (Sebert) Kooima of SD. and Carol Moat of Oregon; two brothers-in-law, Clarence (Gertie) Katsma and Dewey Katsma, both of Friesland. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, Lindsey TenDolle; and one brother, Glenn Schreurs. A funeral to celebrate Pauline's life will take place at 11 am on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg with the Rev. Tom Pettinga officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in the Town of Holland. Friends and family will gather at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Friday from 4-7 pm, and on Saturday, at church, from 10 am until the time of the service at 11 am.
