Paul W. Ten Pas

Paul W. Ten Pas, 87, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at Sharon Richardson Community Hospice, surrounded by his loving family.

Paul was born on June 26, 1936, the youngest of seven children of the late Edward G. and Clara (Te Stroete) Ten Pas. He attended Maple Grove Grade School and graduated from Cedar Grove High School. Paul received his bachelor’s degree from UW Oshkosh and his master’s degree from UW Milwaukee. He taught for several years in the Random Lake School District and retired in 1993 after serving as the elementary and middle school principal in Howards Grove for 31 years.

Paul met his wife, Donna (Hickenbotham) while in college and were united in marriage on November 24, 1956. They lived many years in the Village of Kohler before moving to Sheboygan Falls in 1998.

Paul and Donna enjoyed traveling to all 50 states, Canada, Germany, Ireland, and Mexico. Paul enjoyed attending auctions, card playing, gardening, hunting, collecting antique Ferguson and two-cylinder John Deere tractors and spending time with his family at their cabin in Marinette County.

Paul was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls, where he served as an usher, a table leader for AIM classes, attended adult Bible classes and was a regular donor at their quarterly blood drive.

Paul is survived by his two sons, Paul H. (Marty) Ten Pas, Brad (Rita) Ten Pas; very special grandchild, Zachary Paul Ten Pas. He is also survived by one sister, Mary Heinen of Gibbsville; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donna; parents; two brothers, Kenneth Ten Pas, Warren Ten Pas; three sisters, Charlotte Katona, LaVonne Paige, and Carol Wassink; parents-in-laws, Harold “Jiggs” and Laura Hickenbotham.

A memorial service to celebrate Paul’s life will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 730 County Hwy PPP, Sheboygan Falls, on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 4:00pm with Pastor Kyle Backhaus and Pastor Robert Schrader officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family at church from 2:00pm until the time of service. An inurnment will take place at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Gathering Place at St. Paul Lutheran Church or Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
